7.8 Vessel STS Event Push

Developing
POST

Description#

The Vessel STS (Ship-to-Ship) Event Push service supports subscribing to and tracking whether a specified vessel performs STS operations. When an STS event occurs, detailed information of the involved vessels, STS location, coordinates, start time and end time of the STS event will be pushed.
Based on real-time global vessel position monitoring, two vessels are judged to have an STS event if they stay closely berthed or sail side by side for more than 5 minutes.

Use Cases#

Freight Logistics#

Normal STS Transshipment
Monitors the cargo transfer process where large vessels transship cargo to small vessels. It tracks and analyzes each step of cargo flow by combining small vessel information and their subsequent port call records.
Cargo Theft Monitoring
When STS events are detected during vessel navigation in non-transshipment scenarios, key monitoring can be carried out for suspected cargo theft. At the time of the STS event, video cameras and other tools can be used to verify whether small vessels are engaged in cargo theft.

Maritime Supervision#

Vessel Behavior Analysis
Maritime authorities can use vessel STS data to analyze vessel behavior patterns, and identify abnormal illegal STS behaviors by combining other comprehensive data.

Request Limits#

This is a premium service that requires advanced permission application prior to use.
An API key must be created in the Dashboard before using this service. The corresponding monitored fleet vessels and push receiving URL must be configured under the API key.
Your current service access permissions can be viewed in the Dashboard. Please contact our support team to activate service permissions.
